“I had an amazing experience. Wendy was such a generous, interesting, funny, kind, and knowledgeable host and teacher. I learned so many new things about sustainable ways to grow food. This being how to grow food eco-logically!

Wendy helped me create a foundational approach to tackle challenges for food security projects in Mexico. Things like restoring the different natural cycles and Nature’s free ecological services.

We also enjoyed bush walks and swimming at some unforgettable places with her adorable puppy Penny.

“I had a wonderful experience interning with Wendy. Hill Top Farm is vibrant and lush, and I learned so much from Wendy, who gave me practical demonstrations as well as lessons on soil ecosystems, capturing solar energy, and drought-proofing.

I loved eating meals almost entirely grown directly from her soil, having thought-provoking discussions on climate change, and going for long bush walks together on the weekends.

After months of volunteering on different farms in Australia, it was during my month long internship with Wendy that I finally started to understand why it makes sense to focus on repairing our ecological systems. While Wendy is thorough in her teachings, she is also great at making them simple enough for anyone to understand.

“I would live in Wendy’s cabin if I could. I’m an organic gardener from England and came to Wendy to learn her pioneering techniques in regenerative farming and growing in drought conditions to help my work in the ever drier English summers we’re experiencing.

Well I learnt this and so much more. For instance I learnt to work with cattle and poultry in regenerative systems, implementing holistic planned grazing and providing protective glades for the cattle rather than open fields.

My time when not working was just as fulfilling; expect to be cooking with tropical, organic food from the farm and living amongst tropical flowers and insects more colourful than you could imagine – as well as wallabies, lizards, frogmouths, friar birds and snakes of course – this is Australia! There is Wendy’s lily-framed dam to swim in and Wendy is generous enough to take you on her trips to waterholes, bush walks and beach runs. For others coming from the northern hemisphere don’t forget to look out of your cabin on a clear night to see the milky-way.”
